Kitsap County, Washington Inmate Search
In Kitsap County, people use an inmate search to find information about someone who is in jail. This may be done as a background check, out of curiosity, or for official applications. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office provides an online inmate lookup tool, usable by both residents and non-residents of the county for free. This agency also oversees the operation of the Kitsap County Jail. Although the Washington Department of Corrections (DOC) has an active office in Kitsap County, it has no physical jail facility within the county.
However, residents of Kitsap County can conduct an inmate search for individuals held at any DOC facility online. Individual police departments in Kitsap County utilize the centralized county-wide jail roster provided by the county sheriff’s office and do not maintain separate, independent, public-facing rosters. Information that can be found on public inmate rosters includes basic inmate identification data, a description of the charges associated with the detention, arrest/booking information, and custody status.

How to Send Money to an Inmate in Kitsap County Jail?
Friends and family can send money to inmates at the Kitsap County Jail through the Access Corrections Portal. Doing this requires an inmate’s first and last name or inmate identification number, the name of the jail facility, and the state where the facility is located. Deposits on this platform are done by Visa or Mastercard.
Inmate Search by Jail Facility
The Kitsap County Jail and the Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Facility each maintain a separate inmate roster. Since juvenile information is not public in Washington, there is no online jail roster for the juvenile detention facility. Notwithstanding, select individuals with legal authorization may contact the facility directly to request records.
To perform an inmate search for incarcerated individuals at the Kitsap County Jail, an individual may use the online jail roster or visit the sheriff’s office/county jail in person to request records. In each case, the record seeker must know the inmate’s name. For individuals held at any jail facility under the jurisdiction of the Washington Department of Corrections, interested persons may conduct a search using the Incarcerated Search portal provided by the agency.
A link to this portal is available on their website. Searches are by an inmate’s first and last name or DOC number-a six-digit unique identification number assigned to each inmate. The DOC number can be retrieved by searching by a name on the Incarcerated Search portal. Without an inmate’s name or DOC number, a person can randomly browse the website for displayed inmate information.
