A search by first/last name or booking date furnishes inquirers with an inmate’s descriptive information, booking information, charges, custody status and information about the arresting agency. 
  • The Sheriff's Office Booked Last 72 Hours page—discloses information about individuals taken into custody by the Sheriff's Office within the past 72 hours. This webpage is automatically updated every few hours and reveals inmates' name, booking date, and charges.
  • Kitsap County Inmates Released Within The Last 24 Hours— displays the complete name set, booking number and release date of inmates released within a 24-hours interval.

Active Warrant Search in Kitsap County

A Kitsap County arrest warrant is a formal court order granting law enforcement the authority to bring an individual into custody for a specific criminal act. In Kitsap County, arrest warrants are typically authorized and issued by judges of the Superior, District or Juvenile Court once probable cause (a reasonable belief that a crime was committed) has been established. Arrest warrants detail essential information including the suspect's name, the specific charges, the date of issue, and the authorizing judge's signature. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) handles the service and execution of issued arrest warrants but does not provide a searchable online tool for public access to active warrants.

It  might be helpful to note that in-person inquiries about arrest warrants at a law enforcement facility may result in an immediate arrest if an active warrant is confirmed.

How to Find Arrest Records for Free in Kitsap County

Free public access to Kitsap County arrest records and related information is available through several online resources maintained by the Sheriff's Office. These online resources include the Web Jail Viewer, the Booked Last 72 Hours page and Inmates Released Within The Last 24 Hours page. To obtain arrest information from these online tools, interested persons are required to provide a name, booking number, booking date or birth date.

In-Person visits to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office during official business hours is another no-cost option for obtaining arrest information generated in Kitsap County. The Sheriff's Office provides free access for public inspection of records at its disposal; however copying records may attract fees.

Requestors utilizing free resources to access Kitsap County arrest records, requestors should note the following:

  • Certain arrest information may be redacted from public search sites pursuant to RCW 42.56
  • The Sheriff's Office may request a valid means of identification for in-person requests 
  • Some records may not be available in real time and may require additional processing time
  • Comprehensive information may require payment as free resources generally provide limited information than paid services

Kitsap County Arrest Report

A Kitsap County arrest report is a detailed narrative written by the officer in charge of an arrest that contains sensitive information such as witness statements, evidence logs, and the exact facts used to establish probable cause. This is quite different from an arrest record which is primarily a summary of an individual's entry into the local criminal justice system.

While arrest records may be available for public inspection in Kitsap County under state public records law, arrest reports are typically redacted or withheld from the public pursuant to RCW 42.56.240.  To request arrest reports from the County Sheriff's Office, concerned persons may file a subpoena with a relevant court or obtain authorization from a court of jurisdiction.

How to Get an Arrest Record Expunged in Kitsap County

Under Washington laws, expungement, which involves permanently destroying  affected records, applies to non-conviction data only and is governed by RCW 10.97.060 and RCW 9.94A. Qualified persons may submit a Request for Deletion of Non-Conviction Records to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) and the arresting agency that created the record. To qualify for expungement, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Filed charges must have either been dismissed, dropped, or no conviction was entered 
  • The subject was acquitted by a court of jurisdiction 
  • There are no pending charges or warrants.
  • A period of at least 2 years since the case was closed or 3 years since the arrest if no charges were filed must have elapsed subject must be no prior records of felonies or gross misdemeanors

Per RCW 9.96.060 and RCW 9.94A.640, record subjects convicted for certain misdemeanors and Class B or C felonies may be eligible to vacate their records provided they meet the stipulated requirements. For misdemeanors, applicants must wait for a period of 3 years after completing all court requirements or 5 years if convicted for Domestic Violence before applying for vacation of records. Applicants with eligible felony records may apply after being crime free for a period of five to ten years. To vacate a record, eligible individuals may: 

  • Request a copy of their criminal history records from the Washington State Patrol.
  • File a Motion and Declaration to Vacate Conviction with the sentencing court 
  • Serve a notice of the filing to the Kitsap County Prosecutor’s Office.
  • Attend a scheduled court hearing, if necessary.

Once a record has been vacated, interested persons may request for sealing of court records and case files by filing a Petition and Declaration for Order Vacating Conviction under General Rule(GR) 15. Sealing a record makes it inaccessible to the public although law enforcement may still have access to such records. Juvenile records may be automatically destroyed or sealed if the subject has fully completed restitutions and payments, a period of 2 to 5 years from the conviction has passed, and there are no new pending charges (RCW 13.50.050).

How Do You Remove Kitsap County Arrest Records From the Internet?

Individuals who wish to remove their Kitsap County arrest records from the Internet and public databases may begin by applying for the relevant expungement, vacation or sealing of records under state laws. Once a court issues an order to expunge, vacate or seal a record, the law enforcement agencies handling such records are directed to remove, delete or seal such records from their official public repositories. Concerned persons may also serve a notice of the issued court order to nongovernmental public sites and databases requesting the removal of their records from public view.
